The Echo specifically? When it comes to see the memories of others, it has in the past given me the ability to find common cause with a person I might not have otherwise.
It has other effects as well, though. It renders me immune to tempering and also allows me to understand almost any language.
It's always a bit jarring, I'll admit. It's not as if I want to invade people's privacy in that way. But it's come in handy when words won't do the trick.
